Elisa to launch HD over-the-air in Estonia

Finnish service provider Elisa’s Estonian arm is to start broadcasting digital-terrestrial channels in HD as part of its Elisa Klassik offering.

Elisa has teamed up with local transmission services provider Levira to launch over-the-air HD channels, kicking off with broadcasts from the. Tallinn TV tower and Kristiine transmitter sites, andat the Haapsalue and Pehka transmitters in Lääne-Viru county.

Signals are being broardcast in DVB-T2 and H.265, with Conax conditional access .

The move follows Elisa’s making all cable channels HD as standard as part of its Elisa Elamus offering earlier this year.

Elisa Klassik customer in the relevant areas will be able to watch 10 channels in HD.

The channels available are  Kanal 2, Kanal 11, Kanal 12, TV3, TV6, TV3+, Sony Channel, Sony Turbo, Filmzone and Filmzone+.
