Sky Deutschland builds up to season with free football on news channel

Sky Deutschland is to air 16 free-to-view football matches on its Sky Sport News HD channel ahead of the kick off of the 2. Bundesliga season in two weeks.

Sky’s news channel will show matches from two pre-season tournaments this weekend. On Saturday it will air the Schauinsland Reisen Cup in Heimstetten, featuring  Borussia Mönchengladbach, FC Augsburg, SpVgg Greuther Fürth and TSV 1860 Munich.

On Sunday it will will air the Interwetten Cup featuring Fortuna Dusseldorf, FC Utrecht, Ipswich Town and hosts SV Meppen

Thje channel will follow up next weekend with further coverage of the Interwetten Cup in Lohne featuring FC Cologne, SV Werder Bremen and VfL Osnabrück. It will also air a friendly match between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Nuremberg.

Sky News HD will also air coverage of the Opel Cup featuring Mainz, Sevilla FC and Everton on July 27, and a match between Everton and Werder Bremen on August 3.
