TDC completes split into services and infrastructure companies

Danish multi-play telco and cable operator TDC has completed its legal seperation into two entities encompassing services and infrastructure.

The split create one company – Nuuday – that comprises TDC’s customer-facing brands such as YouSee, TDC Business, Fullrate, Telmore, Hiper, Blockbuster and Firmafon, which will focus on delivering innovative digital customer experiences and entertainment, and another –TDC NetCo – that will design, operate and develop TDC’s network.

TDC Group will now focus on supporting, advising and servicing the two subsidiaries in their efforts to complete their individual strategies while ensuring that the owners’ ambitions are met.

Nuuday will be headed by Jaap Postma, while TDC NetCo will be led by Andreas Pfisterer.

“Over the last 140 years, TDC has connected Danes with each other and Denmark with the world. Now we are facing the biggest and most fast-reaching era of change so far, and new times require new approaches. With the legal separation we have now implemented, TDC Group Nuuday and TDC NetCo will be set free to focus on their respective markets and on redeeming their unique potential as independent companies. It is an exciting new step towards a digital future for TDC and a digital Denmark,” said Allison Kirkby, CEO of TDC Group.
