Canal+ taps TVbeat for data insights

Data activation software company TVbeat has been selected by pay TV operator Canal+ Group to streamline TV viewership data across its TV channels to provide insights for content planning and scheduling.

TVbeat will ingest, process and unify all TV linear and non-linear viewership data from set-top boxes and OTT sources at a census level and output to TV reporting and measurement tools, giving Canal+ a view of audience behaviour and actions in channels and programmes across all devices.

TVbeat says it offers insights on time-shifted and on-demand viewing, as well as for live programmes, including analysis across audience/demographic, programme, series, genre groups and subscriber package. Custom reporting can be generated across a range of data relevant to the business need of each Canal+ department, enabling the group to take scheduling and content decisions, according to the technology company.

“TVbeat gives our staff across all TV business areas a one-stop shop for getting insights from our viewership data across MyCanal and Canal+ set-top boxes. With this insight we can now make much more informed and accurate decisions about how we can utilise viewership behaviour across the various audience segments, reduce churn and run more effective promotions,” said Aymeric Augustin, SVP Data of Canal+.

“We are very excited to partner with such an innovative and leading French TV player,” said Abbas D. Tahzib, chief revenue officer at TVbeat.

“Our TV data activation software suite helps Canal+ enhance the TV experience across any device and enables it to deepen collaboration with its broadcasters.”
