Deutsche Telekom-owned Croatian telco T-Hrvatski Telekom has signed an agreement to acquire HP Production the owner of digital-terrestrial TV pay TV service Evotv, from Hrvatska Pošta.
Evotv, which launched in 2012, had 71,195 subscribers at the end of June and generated revenues of HRK57 million (€7.7 million), with a 6% share of the pay TV market. Evotv has a technical reach of approximately 94% of Croatian households.
The deal, subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close by the end of this year.
Davor Tomašković, CEO of T-Hrvatski Telekom, said that the acquisition would improve the company’s position in the Croatian pay TV market and further expand its range of services. He said Evotv’s technical reach would enable the telco to provide its programming offer “in every corner of Croatia”.
T-Hrvatski Telekom is the leading player in pay TV in Croatia with its MAXtv IPTV offering.
Evotv offers around 50 channels in a number of thematic packages.
