Canal+ strikes deal with SFR to include RMC Sport in offering

French pay TV outfit Canal+ has struck a deal with rival SFR to include the latter’s RMC Sport offering in its line-up of channels.

The agreement will enable Canal+’s satellite customers to follow the UEFA Champions League football tournament, which is exclusively carried by RMC Sport and which kicked off yesterday with matches to interest French spectators between Liverpool and PSG and Atletico Madrid and Monaco.

Canal+ will offer RMC Sport to its existing satellite customers at a preferential rate of €9 a month in place of the €19 a month required for an à la carte subscription. The service will be included without any additional cost in the Canal+ Intégrale offering.

New satellite customers will however have to pay the full €19 a month, though without any ongoing contract commitment.

RMC Sport will be available on multiple screens via the MyCanal service for satellite customers that take this option.

RMC Sport also brings the UEFA Europa League, English Premier League and Portuguese championship football to Canal+ customers along with a range of other sports.
