Sky Deutschland is to carry Telefonica’s flagship drama series La Peste. The pay TV operator will air the six-part drama in double-episodes each Thursday at 20:15 from July 19 on the Sky Atlantic channel.
The historical drama, set in Seville in the 16th century, is directed by Alberto Rodriguez and tells the story of a condemned heretic’s search for absolution as he hunts down a killer as the city is struck by the Bubonic Plague.
The launch of La Peste on Sky Deutschland follows a licensing deal struck between Telefonica’s pay TV arm Movistar+ and Sky Vision, international pay TV operator Sky’s distribution arm, in April, whereby Sky Vision secured worldwide marketing rights outside of Spain to the series.
Movistar+ secured separate distribution deals with Beta for its series La Zona and with About Premium Content for Gigantes.
