Liberty Global-owned UPC Switzerland’s premium sports channel MySports has secured 50,000 subscribers since its launch in September, according to the company.
UPC distributes MySports on its own network and via 15 distribution partners.
The service has exclusive rights to Swiss National League ice hockey, which is aired on the MySports Pro channels.
Other forthcoming competitions on the service include the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, and first Formula E motorsports race in Zurich.
MySports also offers coverage of Germany Bundesliga football via a deal with Sky, handball and other sports.
“We’ve now really hit our stride in terms of our business, and all the cogs are turning. It’s so exhilarating, being able to develop our ‘Home of Sport’ with this professional team. We remain hungry and see potential everywhere – it’s a groove I’m really enjoying. Lots of highlights are coming up that we’re showcasing for the first time, such as the [National League] play-offs,” said Steffi Buchli, MySports head of programming.
