Media services provider Globecast has named Jacques Rivals as chief quality and change officer, a new position in which he will be tasked with building and supporting transformation programs as part of Globecast’s overall quality management strategy, helping to drive an enhanced customer experience.
Rivals has worked for Globecast parent Orange for over 30 years, serving since 2011 as head of sales performance support for Orange’s European subsidiaries, contributing to the design and launch of the Orange Group customer experience programme.
Philippe Bernard, CEO at Globecast said, “A key focus for us is to continue to improve the experience that we provide for our customers. That is central to what we offer as a company. Jacques has tremendous experience in developing and delivering customer experience programmes and understands precisely what’s required. We have no doubt that he will flourish in his new role.”
Rivals will report to Bernard and will sit on the Globecast executive committee.
Separately, Globecast has extended a partnership with satellite operator SES to distribute DTH services for Orange Romania.
Under deal, Orange Romania will continue to use the Astra position at 31.5° East to deliver services to subscribers.
Globecast will lease several transponders on Astra 5B to serve Orange Romania, which uses the capacity to broadcast 112 channels, of which 52 are in HD, using the DVB-S2 and MPEG-4 technical standards. Globecast manages the contribution, encryption and encoding for the package, as well as signal transport to the uplink facilities for the satellite.
“Our customers’ experience is at the forefront of all the services we supply to our customers, be it the most extensive 4G network in the country or the content that we provide access to. We are proud to bring Orange Love convergent packs to all households by offering satellite television in addition to our fiber offer. The extension of the partnership with Globecast and SES fits right in with this strategy,” said Yves Martin, chief marketing officer at Orange Romania.
