A+E Networks has named Francisco Guijon as SVP, Americas, responsible for managing the profitability and expansion of A+E’s channels and media assets in Latin America and Canada.
Guijon was previously programming, content and ad sales director at Liberty Global-owned Chilean cable operator VTR. At the cable outfit he headed the company’s content strategy, which included launching the first free VOD service in Latin America.
Guijon will report to Edward Sabin, executive managing director, international at A+E Networks.
“We are thrilled that Francisco is joining our team. He is an incredibly dynamic and strategic executive who has helped hone the cutting edge of convergence between legacy television platforms and digital services in Latin America. His deep experience innovating around digital products and platforms, evolving relationships between programming services and distributors, and devising novel ad sales solutions, will further supercharge our businesses in the region,” said Sabin.
“This is an exciting time for A+E Networks. I am pleased to be joining the team to continue the company’s expansion throughout the Americas with some of the strongest brands in television,” said Guijon.
