Arris taps TiVo for new advanced set-tops

Arris has launched three advanced set-tops that combine traditional QAM video with TiVo’s signature experience, alongside OTT content.

The boxes support the National Cable Television Cooperative’s VU-IT! Program, which is focused on letting independent operators to deliver integrated OTT services alongside standard cable programming.

The new DVRs comprise a second-generation range of TiVo solutions along with services like Netflix and YouTube and are called the: MG2 Cable Media Gateway; Mi4 IP Client; and Qi3 Cable Set-Top Client.

The MG2 and Mi4 devices are both HDR and 4K-ready, while the MG2 also offers six-tuners and a 1TB hard drive.
