Liberty Global-owned Belgian cable operator, Telenet, has agreed a strategic partnership with ZTE Corporation covering 5G and Internet of Things (IoT).
The deal deepens the two companies’ collaboration on next-generation technologies and comes after Telenet selected ZTE in August 2016 to upgrade its national mobile network.
“We are convinced this partnership will allow us to offer a top quality mobile network for existing and future needs all over Belgium,” said Telenet chief technology officer, Micha Berger, discussing the new agreement.
Telenet provides a range of digital television, fixed and mobile services to residential and business customers across Belgium and Luxembourg. ZTE, meanwhile, is a major participant and contributor to global 5G technologies and standards.
