Ericsson is due to launch a fully virtualised video processing solution at NAB in Las Vegas next week.
The firm debut its Ericsson MediaFirst Management Controller and Ericsson MediaFirst Encoding Live 8.1, offering a virtualised processing solution for new services in areas like Ultra HD and virtual and augmented reality.
“We are making it easier to monetise services and drive down processing delivery costs throughout the entire content lifecycle,” said Ericsson’s vice-president and head of media solutions, Elisabetta Romano.
“Management Controller and Encoding Live 8.1 are pivotal enhancements to MediaFirst Video Processing. With these launches, Ericsson simplifies operations for content owners, broadcasters and service providers by enabling the move to complete virtualisation across the media processing delivery chain.”
