Asian OTT service, Iflix, has appointed a top Disney International executive, Emmanuel Frenehard, as its chief technology officer.
Frenehard is set to join Iflix in January, having most recently served as senior vice-president and chief technology officer for Walt Disney International – where he led technology strategy and operations across all subsidiaries of The Walt Disney Company in Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
Prior to this, Frenehard worked as senior vice-president and chief information officer for Walt Disney International and has 20 years of experience leading global technology organisations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Emmanuel, one of the world’s foremost digital technology experts and strategists to the Iflix family,” said Iflix Group Co-founder and CEO Mark Britt.
Frenehard said: “What iflix has achieved in just over a year with its service and regional roll out is incredibly inspiring and a testament to the strength of the company.
“I am excited to join the iflix family as chief technology officer, and looking forward to continuing to bring technology innovation and help drive the company’s strategy forward in such a dynamic market.”
Iflix is now available in Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Brunei and the company has plans to continue to roll out to “key additional emerging markets” in the coming months.
