TVPlayer to come pre-installed on Samsung tablets

TVPlayerUK online TV platform, TVPlayer, has struck a deal with Samsung, establishing it as one of the first streaming video platforms to be pre-installed on new Samsung tablets.

TVPlayer will be available on 24 variants of six models of Samsung tablet in the UK over the next 12 months – the Galaxy View, Galaxy Tab S2, Galaxy Tab Active, Galaxy Tab A, Galaxy Tab E and Galaxy Tab S.

“In a world where there are more mobile devices than people, TVPlayer meets consumer appetite for live TV to be available anywhere, anytime and on any device,’’ said TVPlayer founder and CEO, Adam Smith.

“We are delighted to be collaborating with Samsung to further enhance the delivery of content in a streamlined and flexible way to more UK consumers.”

TVPlayer provides free access to more than 60 free-to-air channels and is available on the web and as an app for iOS and Android, Amazon Fire and Apple TV.

The company, which offers both live linear and catch-up content claims to address “the increasing demand for an aggregated TV offering”, with more flexibility that traditional linear TV services.
