Vivendi has ordered a pair of documentary originals for its soon-to-launch premium short-form and mobile service Studio+.

It has commissioned The Fan I and The Fan II, looking at the world of eSports, from France-based doc producer Zed.

Each will be a 10x6mins series shot in 4K. The first will follow South Korean eSports team JINAIR and its world champion captain SOS (pictured).

Hervé Martin-Delpierre (Daft Punk Unchained) directed the series, which will be an exclusive for Studio+.

The second season, The Fan II, is about to go into production and will follow the best eSports teams and players in the League of Legends.

Both series also go behind the scenes, into the gaming houses that make the videogames featured in the eSports leagues.

Vivendi has high hopes for its Studio+ service. Content chief Dominique Delport announced the service at MIPTV earlier this year.

It is expected to have 25 original titles at launch and launch with French, Spanish, Italian, English, Russian and Portuguese versions.

The Fan series are the first original docs announced for the service. Drama offering including Amnesia, Brutal and Urban Jungle have already been announced. Vivendi said 60 projects are in development for the service, which is slated for a 2017 launch.
