Rovi launches updated i-Guide

Rovi has launched i-Guide HD R32, an updated high-definition programming guide that will be deployed first by Tacoma-based US cable provider, Click! Network.

Rovi said that the newest i-Guide is designed to let service providers deliver “improvements in entertainment discovery” without the needing to upgrade or replace existing hardware.

“i-Guide demonstrates our ongoing commitment to our customers in the face of rapid technology developments and subscriber demands. Our customers are gaining a competitive edge by providing new and user-friendly experiences for entertainment discovery,” said Michael Hawkey, senior vice president and general manager of the discovery business group, Rovi.

The new i-Guide includes HD Auto-Tune and an enhanced TV listings grid, but otherwise keeps its same features and functionality. Rovi said that i-Guide HD R32 is available for subscribers with Arris set-top boxes in North America, while viewers with Pace set-top boxes should have access to R32 later this year.
