Sky has partnered with Ruwido to develop the new remote control for its recently-launched advanced TV service in the UK and Ireland, Sky Q.
Ruwido worked with Sky on the design for the Sky Q touch remote and is manufacturing the control for the operator, the company announced today.
“We are exceptionally proud to be a part of Sky Q and to provide an input device that is a joy to own and to use. Our aim is to transform the way users interact with their television and how they feel about their viewing experience,” said Ruwido CEO, Ferdinand Maier.
Sky’s director of new products, Andrew Olson added: “We chose to work with Ruwido because they are passionate about combining leading edge technology and precise manufacturing in a way that could bring our design and aspiration to life for our customers.”
The remote has a touch-sensitive pad for scrolling through Sky Q’s user interface and voice search is due to be added later this year.
Ruwido will be demonstrating the Sky Q touch remote at TV Connect on stand 57.
