Liberty Global-owned Dutch cable operator Ziggo has launched an app developed jointly with Twitter that allows viewers to follow the 10 most trending live programmes on the same screen with the latest Tweets about each show.
The Kijk Met Twitter app is available to Ziggo customers with the Horizon advanced TV box.
Commercial director Peter Dörr said that the app was one of a range of services that enabled viewers to enjoy a complete experience within the environment provided by Ziggo. Dörr said that Ziggo would introduce further apps in the future, adding to the 82 already available on the operator’s Horizon boxes.
Brenda O’Connell, director of business development, EMEA at Twitter, said that the app made the most relevant conversations available to users and showed which programmes were trending.
