The move follows the earlier appointment of 3 Screen Solutions as software developer for Swisscom’s Swisscom TV 2.0 service. As part of that project, the company developed front-end interfaces for Swisscom’s new Android set-top box, as well as iOS, Android and WP7 smartphones and iOS and Android tablets.
“Swisscom TV 2.0 has been a tremendous success, and we greatly appreciate the support provided by the talented team at 3 Screen Solutions in developing such an innovative user interface platform in accordance with our specifications,“ said Peter Fregelius, head of TV and entertainment technology at Swisscom.
“Now we will look deeper into the user journey, and the wider network, to discover how the next generation of technology can make Swisscom TV 2.0 even better for viewers.”
Ulrich Beutenmüller, managing director of 3 Screen Solutions, said: “Realising maximum return on investment in content is business-critical for TV providers in today’s fragmented media market. So the savvy service provider is motivated to take advantage of new technologies such as UHD and cloud-based possibilities to make the numbers add up. We take pride in supporting Swisscom TV 2.0, we congratulate their successes, and we look forward to working closely with Swisscom on new service developments.”
