A+E Networks UK has appointed former Scripps Networks International executive, Matthew Westrup, to the new role of vice president, operations.
Westrup will take up his new role in March and will oversee broadcast operations, media management, facilities and IT infrastructure for all A+E Networks’ channels across the UK, Ireland, Central and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Benelux, Eastern Mediterranean, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.
He joins from Scripps Networks International, where he was most recently director of operations, UK and EMEA, responsible for three brands and 15 channels.
In his new position, Westrup will report to Nicolas Eglau, chief operating officer at A+E Networks UK, and general manager, Nordics, the Benelux and CEEMEA.
“I am delighted that Matthew is joining us at A+E Networks to spearhead our Operations division. He has a proven track record of managing high profile channel portfolios and leading on innovation as well as overseeing third parties activity and launching new channels,” said Eglau.
A+E Networks UK’s portfolio of channels includes History, Lifetime, Crime + Investigation and H2. It broadcasts 19 channels in 90 countries across EMEA.
