The Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) has appointed Charlie Cerino as its first full-time, paid president in light of the “overall progress and evolution of the Alliance”.
Cerino has been president of MoCA since 2007 while also serving as board representative for Comcast. He will now no longer represent Comcast but will sit on the board as an independent representative with no company affiliation.
“The Board realised that the organisation required the attention of an actively engaged president and that the best person for the job was already in place,” said MoCA’s vice president, William Beals.
Cerino joined Comcast in 1978 and retired from his role as vice president of Comcast Center Technology in 2013. He has 40 years industry experience and said that MoCA’s progress on its next generation specifications will “solidify our position in home networking for years to come.”
