A1 Telekom Austria has partnered with Alcatel-Lucent in a bid to transform its network and accelerate the rollout of high-bandwidth services.
The Telekom Austria subsidiary will use Alcatel’s fixed access, IP routing and optical transport technologies in an effort to increase network capacity and speed – a move designed to help it reach the Austria’s broadband initiative goal of connecting 99% of homes at 100 megabits-per-second speeds.
Alcatel-Lucent will become A1 Telekom Austria’s exclusive supplier of ultra-broadband fixed access technology, providing Vplus and G.fast access technologies, IP routing and optical transport.
“We are committed to providing our customers the highest broadband speeds and the highest quality of experience. Working with Alcatel-Lucent to transform our network we will remain at the forefront of technology in Austria and meet the needs of residents for years to come,” said Marcus Grausam, chief technical officer of A1 Telekom Austria.
