Ericsson’s executive vice president and head of segment networks, Johan Wibergh, is due to join Vodafone in May, taking over from Steve Pusey as the mobile operator’s chief technology officer.
Wibergh, who has been at Ericsson since 1996 and been a member of the firm’s executive leadership team since 2008, will be replaced by Hans Vestberg, who will assume the role of Head of Segment Networks in addition to his duties as Ericsson President and CEO – effective immediately.
Vodafone’s current CTO Pusey is due to retire from Vodafone on July 31, 2015, following a hand-over period with his successor. He first joined Vodafone from Nortel in 2006 and was appointed to the board in June 2009.
