Announcing the deal, CTC Media CEO Yuliana Slashcheva said that it represented “the next logical step” in CTC’s strategy to develop its digital and transmedia businesses.
CarambaTV said that its content generates more than 75million views per month, including 20 million views of online content. The CTC deal includes the Carambatv.ru and 100500.tv web portals, which together claim more than 2 million unique monthly visitors.
“We see an opportunity for the additional monetisation of our existing channels by consolidating traffic and exchanging content with CarambaTV,” said Slashcheva.
