Sony Pictures Television’s Young to take senior distribution role

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has named Mark Young as senior vice president of distribution, UK, Africa and Ireland.

London-based Young will be responsible for managing and growing all SPT distribution activity across these territories and reports to Mike Wald, executive vice president, international distribution. He will head film and TV licensing negotiations with broadcasters and digital platforms, working closely with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment across online, VoD and the growing SVoD market.

Young was previously senior vice president of distribution, Australia and New Zealand for SPT, and has also worked as vice president, distribution, managing sales across central and eastern Europe, the Middle East, Israel, Greece, Cyprus and Turkey.

“Mark has 20 years’ experience in the TV industry with an impressive track record of growing our sales and distribution business in a number of territories around the world. He is returning to the European team to lead our distribution activity in these priority markets at an incredibly exciting time for the business,” said Wald.
