One in nine UK homes to be ‘smart’ by year-end

Some 11% of UK homes will have at least one smart system – such as  automated entertainment or appliance systems they can control remotely over the web – according to Strategy Analytics.

The new research says that 3.1 million households will spend a total of £715 million (€905 million) on smart home systems in 2014. This is tipped to double to £1.4bn across 7.7 million UK households in 2019.
