Central and Eastern European satellite TV provider UPC has launched business and financial news channel CNBC on its platform.
The English-language network is available to DTH customers as part of UPC’s ‘Light’ package in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, and as part of its HD package in Romania.
It replaces BBC World news in the channel line-up and takes slot 152 on the EPG.
“We are pleased to improve our line-up with the addition of CNBC on UPC Direct services in Hungary, FreeSAT in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and Focus Sat in Romania. This will further enhance our already varied packages of channels providing our customers more content in live business and financial news,” said Jim Helfgott, vice president of marketing and sales for UPC DTH.
Jacqueline Lam, vice president of international distribution at CNBC added: “Our agreement with UPC DTH enables viewers across central and eastern Europe to watch the latest global business news and analysis, and access CNBC’s real-time data. We continue to grow our footprint across the region as operators recognise CNBC’s expertise in the market.”
