Endemol UK appoints new games division head

Production company Endemol UK has upped the commercial director of its games division, Owain Walbyoff, to managing director of the unit, as part of an internal reorganisation.

Walbyoff will replace former Endemol Games MD Jurian van der Meer, who has moved to a new post at Endemol Netherlands, where he will work as commercial director.

In his new role, Walbyoff will oversee the licensing and monetising of Endemol and third party entertainment properties in the gaming space. He will report directly to Endemol UK’s CEO Lucas Church.

Endemol Games is responsible for producing and licensing successful TV branded games for online, mobile, casinos and lotteries around the world. Its portfolio of games includes titles based on Endemol TV formats The Million Pound Drop, Deal or No Deal and Big Brother.

“Endemol Games is deservedly recognised as a pioneer in the industry.  The growth of the business has been achieved through world-class innovation, underpinned by access to Endemol’s hit global brands.  I’m incredibly excited about leading the brilliant team here and working to deliver the next generation of online gaming,” said Walbyoff.
