VimpelCom boost from fibre growth

Russian service provider VimpelCom’s fixed line business was boosted by growth in fibre-to-the-building subscribers and voice revenue last year, while the company’s fixed-line broadband base declined by 3% year-on-year to 2.3 million.

Fixed line service revenue grew by 5% year-on-year to RUB12.4 billion, with ARPU rising by 1%.

VimpelCom overall reported revenues of US$22.5 billion for the full year, down 2%, and EBITDA of US$9.6 billion, down 1%.
