Russian broadcaster CTC Media has launched its Peretz channel in Kyrgyzstan following a deal with local distribution partner Evropa-Azia.
Kyrgyzstan is the second international market for Peretz, which is also available in Belarus. Outside Russia, CTC also operates an international version of its flagship CTC channel in North America, Europe, Central Asia, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, the Middle East and Kyrgyzstan as well as owning Kazakhstan’s Channel 31 and a subsidiary in Moldova.
“Expanding CTC Media channels’ broadcasting internationally is part of the company’s long-term strategy. Evropa-Azia already owns the rights to distribute the CTC television channel’s signal in Kyrgyzstan. Peretz is now available in the country’s main cable networks and we plan on continuing to dynamically develop our technical penetration. In 2014 Peretz’s viewers will see quite a lot of new programmes and genres,” said Sergey Petrov, chief broadcasting officer for CTC Media.
“We have been successfully working with CTC Media since 2012. I am certain that Peretz will not disappoint Kyrgyz viewers and will give us all a great deal of vividly positive emotions,” said Ayder Bekirov, CEO of Evropa-Azia.
