More than 50% of Netflix viewers said they were willing to exercise while ‘binge watching’ programmes in 2014, instead of “slouching on the couch”, according to a survey by the US video streaming firm.
In a poll of 1,000 US internet users, Netflix also found that 45% of respondents agreed they would be more motivated to exercise if they had access to their favourite TV shows on-demand, without commercials, while working out.
“Sitcoms come out on top as the favourite genre to watch while working up a sweat, with more than one in three (36%) choosing humour over serialised dramas (27%), Sci-Fi/fantasy (24%) or reality shows (20%),” said Netflix.
