Turkey’s Doğuş Media Group has chosen video technology provider Harmonic to deliver the multiscreen technology for its new TVYO over-the-top TV service.
Harmonic is providing its ProMedia multiscreen production and preparation applications, WFS file-based workflow engine, and MediaGrid shared storage systems to support TVYO, which delivers 12 on-air broadcast streams as well as video-on-demand and catch-up TV content.
TVYO’s mobile app has been downloaded over one million times since the service launched, and more than 150 million videos have been viewed. The TYVO.com site and mobile apps now register five million unique monthly views.
Channels on the platform include NTV, Star, CNBC-e, NTV Spor, Kral TV, E2 and Kral Pop TV.
“Consumer demand for OTT multiscreen content is increasing every day. Therefore, the key to launching our new TVYO service was finding a reliable integrated video solution that delivers high-quality output and that can seamlessly scale to support additional live channels and VOD content,” said Alp Öcal, director at Tvyo DMG. “Harmonic provides us the most reliable and scalable solution for transcoding, packaging, recording, and storage. Within three short months of launching the TVYO platform, we’ve already added four more channels, increasing our viewer satisfaction and revenue streams.”
