Middle East broadcaster Al Jazeera has accused Egypt of jamming its Egyptian news service’s signals.
According to the MediaGuardian website, the broadcaster accused Egypt of blocking its transmissions after commissioning detection specialist Integral Systems Europe to investigate the problem. Al Jazeera’s Egyptian service, Al Jazeera Mubasher, which broadcasts on the Nilesat satellite platform, has been subject to jamming since early July.
Al Jazeera has also accused Egypt of blocking its feeds to other broadcasters via the Arabsat satellite position.
