BBC launches sport app on Kindle Fire

The BBC has launched its BBC Sport mobile app for Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD devices in the UK.

The app is already available on Android and iOS devices, with the Kindle Fire release coinciding with a number of updates across all three supported platforms.

The BBC said these updates would make it easier for users to follow BBC Sport coverage based on their preferences, with users able to add their favourite sports and teams to a quick links menu, which will be available across all devices. Major sporting events have also been made more prominent in the app.

“Launching the BBC Sport app for Kindle Fire devices, alongside a substantial update to our Android and iPhone apps, gives more people access to more of their favourite content on the go. It’s been an exciting six months of sport, and mobile has been a big part of our overall digital coverage,” said Lucie McLean, executive product manager for sport, BBC Future Media.
