UK operator TalkTalk has appointed former Modern Times Group executive Henrik Karlberg to the newly created role of head of pay-TV.
The appointment comes as commercial director Laurence Miall D’Aout, who joined TalkTalk last year, prepares to step down in August.
Karlberg will report to TalkTalk’s executive commercial director and representative on the YouView board Tristia Harrison.
He joins from Yelp-owned European local reviews site Qype, where he was commercial director. Prior to that he was a venture partner at investment firm Seabay Capital, and before that COO of emerging markets at broadcast firm Modern Times Group.
In May, telecom operator TalkTalk said it had more than doubled its TV subscriber base in the quarter to March 31 and said it was adding 12,000 new TV subscribers a week as it exited its financial year.
