French cable operator Numericable’s first quarter results were boosted by the success of its LaBox offering, with gross subscriber additions growing by 39% thanks to the success of the LaBox Fibre by Numericable offering. Numbericable had over 177,000 LaBox subscribers by the end of March.
Numericable reported that its revenues were up 3.5% to €225 million and EBITDA up 1.7% to €115 million. The operator’s subscriber base grew by 11.6% to 1.647 million year-on-year.
Numericable president Eric Denoyer said that the lag between EBITDA growth and revenue growth was due to the operator’s investment in LaBox.
