Scripps Networks Interactive is due to launch a suite of mobile apps and websites to allow paying viewers to access Scripps’ programming from different devices.
The authenticated TV Everywhere rollout is scheduled for the second quarter of this year, and will include branded iOS and Android apps for its networks HGTV, DIY Network, Food Network, Cooking Channel and Travel Channel.
“The best way to satisfy consumers’ desire is to help them access content beyond the set-top box and deliver it through various industry initiatives such as TV Everywhere,” said Henry Ahn, executive vice president, content distribution and marketing.
The apps will be available to download for free, but users must have a pay-TV service subscription to access the content.
