A new satellite platform for Nigeria, Daarsat, is broadcasting on Spacecom’s Amos satellite platform at 17° East.
Daarsat, owned by local player Daar Communications, is the eighth Nigerian DTH platform to launch on the Amos 5 satellite including Infinity and HiBand.
The platform offers five consumer bouquets, with about 30 channels and includes features such as messaging and subscription services. Security is provided via fingerprinting and chipset pairing.
“Our partnership with Daar serves as an excellent example showing Spacecom’s commitment to Daarsat. The agreement secures a long and mutually beneficial relationship between our organizations for many years to come,” said Spacecom CEO David Pollack. “We are proud to add another DTH platform to the Amos-5 at 17° East neighborhood through our relationship with the leading communication group, Daar Communications. Delivery of high quality service on a powerful platform is what elevates Amos and helps our business grow.”
