UKTV-owned UK entertainment channel Dave has launched an iOS app that enables viewers to watch shows on-demand via Apple iPads and iPhones.
The app, which is based on UKTV’s existing Dave on Demand PC VoD service, can be be downloaded for free from Apple’s app store. Its launch marks the first time that UKTV has made its programming available to viewers via their iOS device.
UKTV worked with TV technology specialist Capablue to build the app.
Ben Hine, UKTV’s director of operations, technology and innovation, said: “With the 12 million tablets currently in use in the UK increasingly becoming a primary device for viewing content, the Dave app makes our great programmes conveniently accessible to even more viewers. Dave is the first of our free-to-air channels to have an iOS app and over the coming months we will be working towards rolling out apps for Yesterday and Really.”
