OTE reports TV gains in Greece and Romania

Greek telco OTE has seen significant increases in pay TV subscribers in its home country, while its Romanian subsidiary Romtelecom has also seen gains.

Announcing third quarter results, OTE ended September with 96,773 TV subscribers, up 74.1% year-on-year. That figure has since risen to over 105,000 at the start of November. The telco, which operates an IPTV service, launched a DTH offering earlier this year and added over 20,000 subscribers during the third quarter.

In Romania, Romtelecom’s pay TV base increased by 1.9% year-on-year to 1.231 million at the end of September. TV revenues, however, were up 11% as customers increasingly choose higher-priced subscriptions.
