TV software company Access has announced that Abox42 has chosen its NetFront Living Connect to provide media sharing capabilities for the new Abox42 OTT and IPTV set-top box line. The integration of NetFront Living Connect into the Abox42 B12 platform as well as the newly launched Abox42 M12, enables broadcast and OTT operators to provide consumers with media sharing features, turning existing TVs into Smart TVs.
The Access solution includes an Android application for smartphones and tablets that enables control of the set-top box and simplifies sharing content around the home.
“With the multiscreen and Smart TV revolutions continuing to accelerate, it’s our belief that the only operators that will be successful will be those that combine great content with the 21st Century experiences that consumers now expect,” said Oliver Soellner, vice-president business development of Abox42. “That’s why we’ve worked with Access, the leader in multiscreen, to make sure that our OTT and IPTV set-top box platforms enable operators to cost-effectively deploy their OTT services with advanced media sharing on all current TVs.”
Access will be exhibiting at IBC on Stand 14.103. Abox42 will be on Stand 14.352
