The BBC is adding two new sections to the Global iPlayer service in Europe, featuring content from the CBBC and CBeebies channels.
The Family section will target older children with programming from CBBC, including Newsround, Deadly 60 and Rentaghost. Younger children will be targeted with the CBeebies section, which will bring hit shows Justin’s House and Mr Bloom’s Nursey to the iPlayer.
Derren Lawford, head of programming and scheduling for the pilot Global iPlayer, said: “In an on demand world, parents want to ensure their children can watch shows in a safe, fun, trusted and curated environment. Given its outstanding domestic and international reputation, I can’t think of a better brand than CBeebies to help the Global BBC iPlayer do just that.”
