Fetch TV acquired by internet retailer

Online entertainment retailer ShopTo has acquired Fetch TV, the OTT/DTT hybrid service for the UK market.

IP Vision, the company behind the Fetch TV platform, entered administration earlier this year.

Fetch TV gives access to the UK’s Freeview channels as well as online TV platforms including the BBC’s iPlayer and BSkyB’s Sky Go. It is also available on connected TVs from Panasonic, Samsung and LG.

“Our customers are consuming entertainment in many ways and we need to deliver the same excellent ShopTo service they have come to expect through every device,” said ShopTo CEO Igor Cipolletta. “We will continue to make appropriate investments related to growing our multichannel strategy as the online entertainment market evolves with new technology and customer consumption habits.”
