Cyfra Plus awarded 3D channel licence

Polish pay TV operator Cyfra Plus has been granted a licence for its 3D channel by the country’s National Council of Radio and Television.

The operator’s first foray into 3D occurred in May 2010 when it aired a live domestic football match, followed by the animated film Coraline. It has since launched a channel, Canal Plus 3D, that airs three hours of content daily. The operator said the licence would enable it to further enhance the channel’s output.
