Ziggo sees triple-play growth

Dutch cable operator Ziggo added 51,000 digital TV customers in the fourth quarter of 2011, ending December with 940,000. That figure was up 4.7% year-on-year.

The operator has seen success with its bundled offering, attracting 1.274 million triple-play subs by the end of the year, which represents over 40% of its customer base and was up 16.5% on the previous year.

Telephony subscribers were also up, 15.8% to 1.4 million, as were broadband numbers, up 9.2% to 1.7 million.
Blended ARPU in the fourth quarter was €39.19, an increase of €4.13 or 11.8%

Year-on-year. Fourth quarter revenues amounted to €378.0 million, up 5.9%. Full year revenues were up 7.4% to €1.478 billion.

Ziggo CEO Bernard Dijkhuizen said, “We have continued a strong performance in the last quarter of the year, consistent with the trends we saw throughout 2011, which produced a successful year for Ziggo. Our strategy of focusing on high quality bundled services has resulted in further growth in RGUs in both the consumer and B2B segments, driving higher revenue. Our investments in the infrastructure and customer satisfaction are driving this growth and we will continue to invest in new attractive propositions for our customers to maintain this momentum in 2012.”
