Turner has appointed its current Spanish chief Domingo Corral as head of general entertainment across EMEA.
Corral will become entertainment content chief, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Turner Broadcasting System Europe, in addition to his current role as senior vice president and general manager, Spain. This comes as the international arm of the US broadcaster looks to increase its profile with adult skewing content on channels including TNT, TCM and truTV with series including Steven Spielberg-produced cable drama Falling Skies.
Corral, who will continue to be based in Madrid, will work closely with his colleagues at Turner Asia Pacific and Latin America as well as US counterparts in developing original programming.
Turner EMEA president Jeff Kupsky said: “Turner has a wide range of programming assets that go far beyond our traditional strengths in EMEA in news and kids. Domingo’s role will be to develop and harness these assets around our region, drawing upon our existing structure and expertise to give them a much sharper, more strategic focus.”
