LCI wins IPTV carriage deals

TF1-owned news and information channel LCI has agreed carriage deals with IPTV providers Bouygues Telecom, Orange and SFR, enlarging its distribution and potential advertising revenues.

The deals follow the expiry of LCI’s exclusive contract with CanalSat at the end of December. LCI last year struck a new, non-exclusive deal with CanalSat by which the latter agreed to pay about €7.5 million a year in place of the €15 million a year it had previously paid.

In addition to the IPTV providers, LCI has secured carriage with TF1’s new DTT pay TV bouquet Lib’Télé and DTT pay TV provider TV Numeric. It has also renewed its contract with cable operator Numericable.
