Humax has teamed up with Opera Software to launch HD set-top boxes with read-made web apps.
Humax iCord HD+/ME set-top with Opera browser software onboard has already been launched in the Middle East and will be made available in other regions soon, according to Humax. The HD set-top also features the Humax TV Portal, enabling viewers to access web content on their TVs.
According to Humax, the Opera Devices software developers kit, on which the portal is now based, provides support for connected TV in the form of web browsing, W3C-compliant Opera Widgets for TV, more intuitive, predictive on-screen spatial navigation, W3C/OIPF/HbbTV specification compliance and hardware acceleration.
