Latvia’s competition regulator has closed the file on its case against telecom operator Lattelecom for abuse of its market position.
The case had originally arisen from complaints made by Lattelecom’s rivals in the pay TV business, Viasat, TV3, Izzi and Baltkom, alleging abuse of a dominant positing in the market and illegal cross-subsidy following its launch of digital-terrestrial TV services.
The competition authority closed the case citing lack of evidence to support the case that the operator had abused the regulations. Lattelecom’s digital-terrestrial service is received by about 220,000 households, according to the operator.
